Mobile Application Design

I was contacted by a start-up to design some screens for their survey application releasing for smart devices. The only thing they had to give me was a few words in a Powerpoint presentation and a broad overview of how the app would work. My job was to translate this into a successful and usable user experience.
The fact that this was a mobile app was less important than solid user centered design. The client was thinking in terms of art in the beginning. They got art, but they also got proposed task flows, layout architecture for a seamless experience and feasible integration with a 3rd party payment utility.
